**The Role**
Strategy, Policy, and Industry Group is seeking a number of Program Officers to contribute to the Department of Defence’s key policy and national security functions to protect and further Australia’s national interests. Your role would be to strengthen Australia’s national security and economic resilience by using your program management skills to deliver programs across a range of industry policy and international policy areas.

The Program Officer roles in Strategy, Policy, and Industry Group are highly varied but they all involve working as part of high-performing teams to deliver national security objectives. Your team’s work could range from translating Government policy into implementable programs to improve industry skills, find export trade opportunities, implement grants programs, gift materiel, or develop overseas infrastructure. Such roles would need you to deal directly with industry and Defence stakeholders to ensure the programs support strategic objectives and are fit for purpose. We are looking for people who have an eye for detail, will test standard ways of achieving objectives, and will continue to strive to develop innovative programs to meet strategic goals.

No two days would be the same - helping to conduct meetings to support and influence stakeholders, briefing Defence’s Senior Leadership, consulting with other government agencies, and contributing to corporate transformational change.
