**THE OPPORTUNITY**

Due to continued growth, we are seeking an experienced, and highly motivated Workplace Health & Safety Advisor to join the team for a project based in Yatala, QLD. As a WHS Advisor, you will play a crucial role in overseeing health and safety compliance on-site, ensuring a safe working environment and adherence to WHS regulations throughout the project.

**QUALIFICATIONS / EXPERIENCE**
- A relevant qualification in Workplace Health & Safety (e.g., Diploma of Work Health and Safety or equivalent).
- Minimum of 2 years of experience in a WHS advisory role, preferably within the construction or manufacturing industries.
- Comprehensive knowledge of Australian Workplace Health & Safety legislation and standards.
- Proven ability to develop, implement, and monitor WHS policies and procedures.
- Experience conducting site audits, risk assessments, and incident investigations.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills to effectively liaise with team members, contractors, and stakeholders.
- Certification in First Aid and CPR (desirable).

**MAIN RESPONSIBILITIES**

The main responsibilities for this position include, but are not limited to:

- Implementing and enforcing best practices and management systems to enhance workplace performance, and compliance.
- Monitoring site activities, use of PPE and providing guidance on risk management and control measures.
- Ensuring strict adherence to company procedures, as well as local regulatory and legislative requirements regarding health and safety.
- Developing, implementing and reviewing WHS policies and plans, including company documentation like SWMS (RAMS), forms and guides.
- Advising management and the workforce on best practices, as well as any changes or updates to policies and procedures.
- Overseeing the provision of Occupational Health and Safety (OHS) induction and training for all employees and subcontractors.
- Investigating injuries, incidents, and near misses and recommending appropriate corrective actions.
- Coordinating activities related to the return to work of injured employees.
- Assisting the Site Supervisor with equipment procurement, vehicle and property inspections, compliance with lifting and material handling equipment, plant inspections, and the preparation of safe work method statements (SWMS).
