**About the Opportunity**

We have an exciting opportunity to join Metcash as a **Data Analyst **in our Liquor pillar. The Data Analyst plays a pivotal role in transforming data into actionable insights that drive strategic decision-making across ALM. You will be responsible for designing, developing, and maintaining business intelligence solutions, including dashboards, reports, and data models. The Data Analyst will work closely with stakeholders to gather requirements, provide analytical support, and ensure that data-driven insights are effectively utilized to optimize business performance. You will work closely with business leaders to analyse sales, inventory, customer, and market data, uncovering trends and opportunities that enhance the performance of our liquor wholesale and retail business.

**In this Role**
- Work with key stakeholders to identify business issues and opportunities for optimisation
- Analyse customer behaviour and preferences to identify opportunities for targeted marketing and sales strategies.
- Monitor market trends and competitor performance to support strategic planning and positioning
- Work with the Business Data and Insights Manager to develop the strategy for the team
- Collaborate with stakeholders to understand business needs, define reporting requirements, and ensure BI solutions meet organizational objectives.
- Translate business questions into technical specifications for BI solutions.
- Reporting: scope, design, build and maintain BI solutions that advise and influence business decisions
- Collaborate with IT Mdata teams to guide the design of data models and construct DAX calculations.

**You’re Likely a Match If**
- Bachelor’s degree (or equivalent) in Data Science, Business Analytics, Computer Science, Information Systems, or a related field
- Must-have: Advanced Power BI Premium, Advanced ‘Modern’ Excel, Intermediate SQL
- Understanding of data visualisation principles and techniques
- Experience with data modelling, ETL processes, and database management.
- Understanding of FMCG/CPG industry, Liquor and/or independent retailer landscape is a bonus
- Experience working with BIG data from disparate sources with various shortcomings - nothing’s perfect
- Strong ability to interpret data and communicate results in a structured and compelling manner to less technical audiences
