**Role - Responsibilities**:
**Drive sustainability outcomes and ensure Building and our projects create value for John Holland, our customers and communities.**

**Key Accountabilities**:
Drive a culture of contemporary thinking and best practice across Building to address the needs of our customers and communities.

Increase Building and projects’ understanding of sustainability through education programs that are aligned with John Holland Group’s Sustainability Strategy.

Promote the understanding of risks and opportunities related to sustainability across Building and projects, ensuring well balanced long-term decision making is consistently applied.

Ensure Building and projects adopt John Holland systems, strategies, policies, objectives and targets from concept planning through to design, procurement, construction, commissioning, operation and maintenance to meet customer requirements and help increase profit and market share.

Support the tender review process and provide technical input to EOI, RFPs and tenders, demonstrating a strong understanding of sustainability goals, rating schemes and other related stakeholder requirements.

Support operations to determine the necessary support (including suitable level of competence) is available for the effective implementation of sustainability requirements across Building.

Represent and advocate sustainability outcomes within the industry on behalf of Building.

Ensure Building and projects are prepared for and can adequately respond to sustainability events and emergencies.

Monitor, measure and evaluate Building’s sustainability performance in order to support the continuous improvement of John Holland’s systems and practice.

As required, provide support to Operations Environment Manager in meeting governance or legal requirements across projects such as auditing.

Mentor and support the development of project sustainability and environmental personnel in leading sustainability and environmental practices and driving improvement.

Perform all duties in accordance with John Holland policies, processes, systems and procedures.
