Exciting Opportunity: Sustainability Executive at BAT Australia

Function: Corporate & Regulatory Affairs

Location: Sydney

About the Role: As a Sustainability Executive, you will play a key role in supporting the strategic direction, coordination, and implementation of sustainability programs and initiatives for the APMEA South region.

**Your responsibilities will include**:

- Supporting the deployment of the APMEA South Sustainability strategy.
- Assisting in the development and pressure testing of EM Sustainability strategies.
- Providing strategic and operational support for EM metrics, monitoring, and reporting.
- Offering mentorship and advice to resolve Sustainability issues at both market and above-market levels.
- Collaborating with the regional/global sustainability teams to drive sustainability campaigns and ensure alignment with corporate narrative amplification strategies.
- Developing sustainability communications content in coordination with the Head of Sustainability and Head of Business Communications to drive external and internal messages.
- Supporting DRBU lead in coordinating ESG internal and external events and being responsible for the ESG SharePoint.
- Owning the APMEA South Volunteerism Programme.
- Attending BC&S updates as required.

**Leadership Capabilities**:

- Actively leading Sustainability initiatives with integrity.
- Assisting in building Sustainability capability in EMs.
- Ensuring relevant stakeholders at DRBU and end markets are appropriately engaged on Sustainability matters.
- Managing third parties, including CSI partners and agencies.
- Role modeling the Ethos.

**Required Proficiencies**:

- Understanding the significance of a meaningful and well-delivered ESG (Environmental, Social, and Governance) agenda.
- Ability to engage and influence external stakeholders.
- Strong project management, planning, and organization skills, including the ability to meet deadlines.
- An ability to convert intangible ideas into practical implementation realities.
- Execution of planned activities.
