Forensic 2025 Vacationer Program
**Company Description**
At KordaMentha, you’ll make an impact from day one. We’re looking for ambitious, well-rounded individuals ready to tackle real-world business challenges.
Join a team that thrives on creativity, collaboration, and bold thinking. We go beyond the standard approach—asking ‘what if?’ and ‘why not?’ to uncover innovative solutions that help our clients grow, protect, and recover value.
Our award-winning vacationer program is designed to put you in control of your career. Skip the traditional rotations and dive straight into one of our specialist areas. Gain hands-on experience working on high-profile and diverse engagements, with expert mentoring, tailored support, study assistance, and training to help you excel.
At KordaMentha, we foster a culture of respect, inclusion, and integrity. You’ll be part of a supportive team that values diversity and encourages you to bring your unique perspective. Through regular social events and community initiatives, you’ll build strong connections and make a meaningful impact beyond the workplace.
Applications are now open to join our Forensic group for the Winter and Summer vacationer intake.
Working alongside our group of forensic investigators, forensic accountants and forensic technology specialists, this is your opportunity to learn how we uncover, analyse and clarify facts at the centre of some of the highest-profile disputes, investigations and other sensitive matters across the Asia-Pacific region.
This vacationer role will primarily see you assisting with forensic accounting and investigations tasks: but this role is not limited to those studying accounting degrees. At our core, we are curious all-rounders, able to clarify and explain complex concepts so we consider applicants studying any degree. You will learn how we formulate, and report our expert opinions on matters ranging from the quantification or valuation of the financial impacts of a dispute, to determining the facts around suspected fraud, misconduct, corruption, or regulatory breaches. Make a real impact as, together, we solve our clients’ most challenging, high stakes matters.
Placements will run for either four or eight weeks over the Winter through June and July, and Summer from November 2025 to January 2026. We have opportunities across our various offices, so please indicate from the listed options which city you are interested in.
**What you’ll be doing**
As a Forensic vacationer, you need to be able to take complex information and present it in a simple way. This normally involves reviewing and analysing evidence, both factual and financial, to the appropriate standard of proof where applicable: our findings are often referred to by lawyers and Courts. While no two days will be the same, you can expect to work on a wide variety of complex projects, including forensic accounting, data analytics, and investigations. Some of the work might include the following:
- reviewing and analysing financial and other information to really understand the data, and perhaps determine if any anomalies exist
- drafting reports of key findings for clients, often for use as an independent expert in court.
- building simple financial models
- scrutinising information using professional scepticism
- attending client and internal meetings
- attending and participating in interviews of witnesses/suspects with senior staff
- contributing to our popular series of publications and blogs
- attending events and other marketing activities with lawyers and other clients
But it’s not all about work. You’ll be given a buddy to help you navigate office life as you settle in. We have regular catch ups with People and Culture to ensure you are getting the most out of your placement. We host regular events and activities, bringing together our close-knit team in a friendly and relaxed environment so you can get to know the people behind the professionals.
**Qualifications**
You will be a student in your penultimate year of study and will have:
- obtaining Bachelor degree with strong academic results, preferably in accounting, commerce, science, technology, engineering or mathematics
- a razor-sharp eye for detail and advanced critical thinking skills
- excellent analytical, technical and communication skills with an ability to think outside-the-box
- strong interpersonal qualities
- a focus on delivering excellent client service
- strong academic results
- eligibility to live and work in Australia (Australian citizens and permanent residents only)
- availability for 4 or 8 weeks between late June/July 2025, November 2025 and late January 2026
**Additional Information**
Applications close: 11:59pm Sunday 30th March 2025.
At KordaMentha, we believe there is strength in difference. Our entrepreneurial spirit expands the possibilities for action. We approach situations, challenges, and opportunities with optimism, curiosity, and diversity of thought. We seek novel solutions to problems and encourage u
