**How will I Help?**

The Global Transaction Services (GTS) business unit is a key pillar in the success of Westpac's Institutional Bank (WIB) as well as the broader Group. GTS provides transactional banking, client experience and solution implementation for institutional customers. GTS is also the product owner for some transactional banking products distributed to customers in the Westpac Consumer and Business Banking division. We also manage the bank's payment networks, the regulatory and payments strategy agenda, and (with Group Operations) payments operations including clearing and settlements.

This opportunity will play a critical role in managing risk and monitoring obligations in GTS, supporting consistent implementation, and embedment of risk management framework, policies and controls with a special focus on Issues & Incidents.

This role is responsible for partnering with key stakeholders on all matters risk and control, responsible for implementation of solutions to risk and control problems.

It is an expectation of this role to support a strong risk culture that embodies our ethics and integrity, balancing commercial and customer needs.

Major Accountabilities Include:

- As part of a team of risk professionals with a GTS product domain value chain squad, contribute to ensuring the divisional and business operations and risk management practices align to the frameworks, policies, risk strategy, regulatory obligations, and appetite of the Group.
- Provide risk expertise to the business and the value chain squad in the identification, assessment, and actioning of risk and controls issues to drive a strong risk and controls culture that helps achieve business objectives.
- Support the proactive and effective monitoring, management and reporting of current and emerging risks and facilitate a strong risk culture, risk awareness and ownership of risk throughout the business and within the value chain squad
- Provide support to the business in developing their risk profile, including defining and operationalising relevant RAS metrics, in line with risk appetite.
- Partner with stakeholders across the GTS product domain value chain to identify and enable more efficient and effective risk practices in the business.
- Provide risk advice in the assessment, root cause analysis and remediation of incidents for the GTS product domain
- Provide input to regulatory requests and remediation, and support the delivery of remediation programs for the GTS product domain
- Provide input into the quality of JUNO and Holocentric records and updates to drive a risk focussed culture.
- Coach and support the business to build greater risk awareness and capability.
- Act as standard bearer for certain Group risk policies, standards and procedures (e.g. Issues & Incident Management) ensuring these are applied consistently within and across each Product Domain Squad, thereby ensuring high quality risk management outcomes are achieved and sustained across the GTS business and value chain
- Work within a virtual team of Risk Chapter Specialists across each of the GTS product domain value chain squads

**What do I need?**

To be successful you will have the following:

- 5- 10 years experience
- Experienced risk management professional with strong banking/ financial services / risk assessment experience, including a material risk policy component related to the relevant risk class.
- Tertiary qualifications
- Influencing and negotiating
- Quality assurance
- Risk management, legal or compliance experience
