**About the role**
With an unwavering focus on prioritising safety above all else, we have a new opportunity for a Risk Principal responsible for carrying out, coordinating, and communicating the risk function across the Pacific National (PN) Business in accordance with PN standards and Regulatory requirements. Reporting to the Assurance, Risk and Investigations Manager, this role will require some travel to PN sites to carry out high level risk management activities, providing guidance and expertise to ensure that operational stakeholders comply with internal frameworks.
**Key responsibilities include**:
- Facilitate risk management processes in consultation with business stakeholders to deliver alignment with risk management standards
- Provide expert advice and information to stakeholders and promote risk management awareness and knowledge to assist the business to produce high standard risk registers and risk profile information
- Managing and reviewing the HSE risk framework including policies, procedures and form templates
- Testing and reviewing control effectiveness through the assurance framework
- Review incident trends and other data sets to suggest actions plans to improve risk performance
This role will be part of the Assurance, Risk and Investigation team and will support with other items including:
- Manage high level, significant, sensitive and non-routine investigations and produce high quality investigation reports
- Lead HSE assurance activities across PN to deliver continuous improvement outcomes for the business
**About you**
You will also have experience in investigations and/or auditing with an engaging and confident approach when negotiating, facilitating and influencing stakeholders.
In addition, you will possess the following skills, experience and attributes:
- Tertiary qualifications in risk management, health & safety, investigation or equivalent
- Experience in safety and risk management principles and practices, Risk Management and WHS legislation
- Demonstrated experience and ability to plan, prepare and facilitate workshops providing specialist advice and guidance to Management of all levels.
- Experience developing and reviewing organisational risk profiles (rail industry specific ideally)
- Strong Excel, Word, PowerPoint and report writing skills. Competency and experience with business or Risk insight tools such as CAMMS risk, or similar would be highly regarded
