The commercial operations of Scouts Australia SA Branch (Scouts SA), has a recycling focus for a sustainable future and supports the long term funding of youth development whilst being a leader in outdoor education. With a turnover circa $35m, this sizeable commercial operation comprises of 12 Scout Recycling Centres (across SA & QLD), retail shops, and a commercial property and campsite portfolio which includes the award winning Woodhouse Activity Centre. Scouts SA has 6,500 volunteer and youth members and employs a workforce of approximately 240 staff.

Reporting directly to the CEO, the Head of Commercial is responsible for developing, leading, and implementing Scouts SA’s commercial strategy, goals and objectives which are aimed towards sustainably accelerating growth through promoting and expanding Scouts SA’s existing operations.

Key responsibilities include:

- ensuring that Scouts SA maximises efficiencies in facility and operational management to meet organisational objectives and profitability targets;
- leading business planning and commercial analysis and providing support to aid in decision making for the Scout Recycling Centres, activity centres, retail shops and property portfolio;
- identifying new and innovative opportunities that will generate revenues and contribute to sustainable growth for Scouts SA;
- continuing to drive strategic initiatives for the organisation and further position the Scouts SA brand.
