**About the role**
The Plant Maintenance Supervisor at V/Line is a pivotal role within the Network Development Asset Maintenance Group, reporting directly to the Plant Manager. The position encompasses a range of responsibilities aimed at maintaining the technical integrity of plant equipment and machinery. This ensures all equipment remains in a safe and reliable condition, meeting the operational requirements of V/Line's maintenance teams.
The supervisor's work hours are set within the core timeframe of 7 am to 5 pm, offering some flexibility in working arrangements.
- Key Accountabilities include:_
- Work closely assisting the Plant Manager in the implementation of overhaul and repair activities and continuous improvement of plant and maintenance standards including modifications to plant to improve function and reliability
- Leading by example, employees, contract staff and maintenance contractors in undertaking of preventative and reactive maintenance.
- You will be responsible for the operation and management of the Plant Maintenance Workshop including procedures to meet relevant safety, environmental and technical standards.
- As the Plant maintenance supervisor, you will be able to provide maintenance advice to the wider organisation in relation to plant and vehicles that are utilised by the maintenance staff.
- Be proactive with a continuous improvement mindset to achieve project outcomes in terms of function, timeframes, and cost.
- Ability to communicate with Original Equipment Manufacturers to ensure that the equipment is fit for purpose and meets V/Line and rail industry standards.
**About you**

You will bring your technical skills in either Heavy Diesel and or from a Mechanical/Maintenance Fitter along with your people leadership skills. Collaboration amongst the wider business, add value to an existing culture, ability to communicate both written and verbal through various of channels. Enjoy guiding, mentoring and coaching team members as well as being able to manage performance.
- Good organisation and time management skills as well as the ability to problem solve and have the ability to prioritise based on the reactive nature of the role.
- Ability to utilise Microsoft business programmes.
- Bringing technical expertise from a Heavy Diesel or Mechanical/Maintenance Fitter background,
- coupled with strong leadership and communication skills.
- This role is suited for someone with a proactive approach to continuous improvement, aiming to enhance project outcomes in terms of functionality, timelines, and cost efficiency.

Successful applicants will be required to undergo pre-employment screening including, probity (police) checks, medical assessment, and Australian entitlement to work. Employees of V/Line are required to maintain a valid Working with Children Check Victoria (Employee) for the duration of employment.
Remuneration will be paid inline with experience and includes usage of a pool car for work purposes, flexibility to work from home, free MYKI travel to travel on Metro and Regional Victoria.
