**About this role**
The focus of this position is to drive growth of energy-related regulatory approvals and assessment projects, lead the development of new business opportunities for environmental services in the energy sector, develop and deliver on business plans and strategies, and support the delivery of positive client outcomes. The role also includes leading and supporting project delivery of energy approval and assessment projects.

The role will work in close collaboration with others in the leadership cohort to actively support the ongoing successful development and operation of the Business across the full range of activities undertaken by the Business.

**What will I do?**
- As the Renewables Lead within the Environment team, you will be responsible for building a pipeline of environment projects and opportunities in the energy market.
- You will be required to work with the relevant teams leaders, energy leader and biodiversity and environment leader to develop and implement longer-term plans inline with the Arup business strategy.
- You will be responsible for procuring work, negotiating major contracts and for financial performance in several specified areas;
- You will be held responsible for the development, design and management of large, complex, long term projects. This will involve coordinating people, facilities and resources within tight timelines and inline with budgetary constraints;
- You will be responsible for recruitment, appraisals, performance development, morale and motivation of staff.

**What will I bring?**
- Recognised relevant tertiary qualifications in Town/Urban/Environmental Planning or Environmental Management/Science/Engineering or similar
- area;
- Project management training/accreditation
- Relevant industry experience in Renewable energy and environmental approvals within a consulting business environment;
- Membership of relevant professional institutions/professional peer bodies or significant credit towards eligibility for membership;
