Commercial Manager

- This exciting opportunity exists for a motivated _**Commercial Manager** to support pre-contracts, contract delivery and project performance for the Mining market. You will join a team of highly skilled Commercial Managers and Executives delivering sound and practical commercial advice across the Australian business.

This is a key position supporting our Mining & Energy group, where the successful individual will play a material role in driving the operations, commercial and strategic outcomes across the national business. Role will be based in Sydney.

**What you’ll do**:

- _ Commercial reviews and negotiations of contracts and other project documents across our broad range of projects and clients,_
- _ Monitoring key contract risks and delivering contract administration rigor into our project management approach,_
- _ Work with WSP’s in-house legal team on contract reviews to make sound commercial decisions on contractual risk, _
- _Assist in resolving commercial issues and linking with our project performance team to ensure we maximise commercial outcomes on our projects and align with the financial strategy of the business,_
- _ Monitoring key business risks and driving operational rigor into our project management approach, and_
- _ Drive, champion, and report on business performance in delivering consistently high quality of service for clients in all aspects of service delivery._

**About you**:

- _ Degree level qualification(s)in Business Administration, Contract Law, Commerce/Finance, Engineering, or associated discipline.; _
- _Extensive experience in project-based environments;_
- _ Strong base of contract administration and / or contract legal experience;_
- _ Financial and numerical acumen to facilitate the understanding and interpretation of the P&L, project performance and ensuring their accuracy_
- _ Work with project and proposal managers to manager opportunity and risk across the range of projects;_
- Ability to understand and effectively communicate contractual principles and clauses to project managers, proposal managers and broader businesses leaders and to support those individuals in managing contractual discussions with clients;_
- _ Sound time management and organisational skills, confident prioritising workload and managing competing deadlines;_
- _ Positive attitude and flexibility towards undertaking a changing variety of tasks;_
- _ Excellent written and verbal communication skills and ability to work effectively in both small and large team environments;_
