**ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES**
- Carrying out research activities/projects relating to technology development, process/bioprocess development, optimisation, product development, scale up, and clinical and/or commercial manufacturing, ensuring on-time delivery within given safety and quality standards.
- Working with the USP (upstream processes) team and/or DSP (downstream processes) to produce therapeutic proteins/ Biological Medicines with microbial (bacterial, fungal and mammalian where applicable) expression systems.
- Record, analyze and report results, SOP development, technical document preparation and participate in regulatory submission and relevant external audits.
- General laboratory responsibilities including Equipment qualification & maintenance.
- Communicate activities and assist other R&D team members, Production, QA, regulatory and other groups within HA TECH, collaborating organizations including liaising clinical trial activities, and regulatory bodies as required.
- Purchasing and internal resource acquisition.
- Marketing & Sales - as required: Carry out market research activities, provide technical information to sales, participate in technical communication with customers, represent HA TECH at trade shows and conferences.

**QUALIFICATIONS / EXPERIENCE / ABOUT YOU**
- Master’s/ bachelor’s degree in Microbiology, Biochemistry, Biotechnology, or relevant Subjects.
- Ability to carry out experimental work independently and troubleshoot.
- Excellent communication skills in English.
- Experience in bacterial, fungal and mammalian protein expression

For Research Scientist position:

- Minimum 3 years work experiences, preferably in the commercial Industry.
- Experience with Upstream Processes (USP) and/or with both USP & Downstream (DSP) operations, large scale preparative chromatography would be an advantage, preferably in the relevant Industry: Therapeutic Protein/Biological Medicines/ Biosimilar/ Vaccine Manufacturing.
- GMP experience will be an advantage for development and manufacturing of cell culture processes, process monitoring, troubleshooting & process scale-up to commercial settings.
- Experience with in-process control systems and automation would be highly competitive
- Experience in research, operations, pilot scale or large-scale production including optimisation of the upstream process and scaling up.
- Handling CIP, SIP Cleaning and sterilization process and harvest of fermentation broth to downstream processing area.
- DSP units (such as chromatography) and optimisation of DSP processes.
- Experience with cGMP validation of pharmaceutical production equipment such as preparative HPLC, centrifuges, ultrafiltration modules, freeze-dryers, blenders etc.

Pay: $82,503.31 - $129,281.32 per year
