**About the role**
In this role, you will report to the Manager Community Experience and be responsible for delivering on the agreed action plans from the social equity framework. You will undertake community participation and research with a community experience lens to understand and capture the needs and concerns of our community stakeholders in the health and social equity areas. These insights will help improve the overall community experience and interactions people have with the City.
Key responsibilities include:
- In coordination with various internal departments, support the development and implementation of specific policies and programs that promote health equity and social justice within the community as per the action plans.
- As directed by the leader, undertake various activities to translate and communicate the needs of the community to improve the Council's services and program offerings to meet the community needs.
- Assist the City in developing, facilitating, and implementing the community experience action plans that responds to the needs of the community, based on data and insights, using customer experience, community development tools and methodologies, data analytics and insights.
- Conduct community research, collect data and present findings in various formats (presentations, reports) to advocate for the needs of the community and help inform decision-making.
- Liaise with community organisations, stakeholders and local networks enhancing relationships and partnerships to provide support to the community on various social and health priorities.
**About you**
To be successful in this role, you will use your experience of working with a diverse range of communities while being flexible and open to agile new ways of working.
Essential Experience:
- Tertiary qualifications in the Social or Health Sciences, Community Development or a related field, which focus on community development, social inclusion, health promotion or substantial relevant experience in a similar field.
- Demonstrated experience and success working with communities experiencing complex social, health or economic issues.
- Understanding of the principles and functions of research, policy development, customer experience and community outcomes.
- Experience in the conducting research on the gathering, analysis and reporting of demographic profile data and projections of community cohorts.
- Satisfactory Working with Children Check.
