**About the role**
This position is responsible for supporting the organisation to deliver on a range of actions including the Social Equity Framework, Multicultural Action Plan, Social Housing Plan, vital communities, and the Ba Gurrk Gender Equity Framework. In addition, the role supports several Council Advisory Committee’s whose purpose is to strengthen our connection with our broader community.

Key responsibilities include:

- Partner and coordinate community level participation that address the main activities as outlined in the Department Business Plan.
- Work in partnership with key stakeholders on social equity, gambling, safety, gender equity, diversity and family violence prevention.
- Respond to and plan actions that address Community Safety concerns in partnership with other Departments and relevant agencies.
- Identify, capture and share data sources across Departments to better understand the City's community and customer experience and develop strategies for addressing gaps
- Respond to emerging issues relating to the functions of the Community Experience Department.
- Provide support to the relevant Council Advisory Committees - i.e. Multicultural Action Plan Committee (MAPAC), Women in Community Life (WiCLAC).

**About you**
To be successful in this role, you will have Tertiary qualifications in the Social Sciences, Community Development, Health or a related field, or an equivalent mix of qualifications and work experience.

Essential Experience:

- Demonstrated effective people management skills to support and foster an environment for high-functioning, productive and engaged teams to operate.
- Experience in developing and maintaining strong partnerships with key stakeholders.
- Experience and significant achievement in successful outcome delivery in a sensitive, time pressured and political environment.
- Proven achievement in developing strategic programs of work in consultation with the community.
- Satisfactory Working with Children Check and current Victorian Drivers licence.
