We are an unlisted public company and one of five licensed banks in Australia with full direct connectivity and production capability across all domestic payment systems. Whilst the major banks leverage this capability for their consumer and business clients, our B2B model focuses on enabling other banks, fintech’s and corporates to deliver innovative and competitive payment and digital solutions to their clients and customers.

As the Product Owner, Shared Applications you will be required to create and maintain the roadmap for the portfolio which is aligned to the corporate and divisional strategic priorities. You will provide leadership to the Shared Application Squad(s) to support change and resolve issues and focus on initiatives that drive the uplift in resilience and maturity. Creating continuous improvement in the portfolio (tracking on uptime provided by Service Operations) will be essential to the success of this role.

Your key responsibilities include but are not limited to the following:

- Own and maintain the backlog of work for the team, balancing competing demands to deliver high quality outcomes, resilient platforms, continued innovation, and client delivery.
- Partner with other key stakeholders (such as Project Delivery, Risk and Compliance, other Product Owners, and Product Managers) to ensure their needs are captured, prioritised, and managed effectively as part of the team backlog.
- Make strategic decisions to prioritise the work in the backlog, managing complex trade-offs and competing priorities.
- Create and maintain the roadmap and lead funding requests, both in partnership with the relevant Practices and Domains.
- Lead the team to develop solutions that enable automation, increase efficiency and support streamlined client delivery.
- Identify and communicate risks, issues and blockers that may require changes to scope or need escalation.
- Champion exceptional client experiences, understanding needs and pain points of their users.
- Communicate clear vision to the team, considering stakeholder feedback and the voice of the client, to inform the user stories and acceptance criteria.
- Set the vision and own the results of their team.
- Define the acceptance criteria for any work to be completed by the team.
- Partner with Practice Managers to develop the skills and capabilities of the team, providing cross-skilling on the multiple systems and platforms to mitigate key person dependencies.
- Actively participate in vendor engagement and management where relevant, in partnership with the Vendor Management Office, Operational Engagement Manager and other teams.

You will also have:

- A comprehensive understanding of the electronic payment industry is essential.
- Demonstrated analytical skills and the ability to prioritise business values.
- Ability to communicate efficiently and effectively and be able to present to senior leaders in a confident manner.
- Proven track record of developing productive working relationships with both technical and non-technical partners.
- High understanding of Customer needs and business strategies
- Practical delivery experience of technical innovation and implementations.
- Knowledge of Agile development methodologies/tools and experience writing user stories.
- Tertiary qualifications in business or equivalent are highly desirable.
