**About the role**
To support our success we are looking for a Regulatory Compliance Advisor - Incidents to join the Risk team team based in Brisbane.
As a Regulatory Compliance Advisor - Incidents, you will be responsible for providing technical advice on compliance issues and investigating legislative provisions in relation to reportable breaches.
Reporting to the Senior Manager - Compliance Incidents and Breaches you will play an integral part in ensuring that the Australian Retirement Trust Group Boards and entities continually meet their licence and regulatory obligations. this includes obligations relating to APRA, ASIC, OAIC, AUSTRAC, FSC and others.
Key responsibilities will include, but not limited to:
- Investigate and identify complex legislative provisions in relation to potential reportable breaches and, work with key stakeholders to analyse whether a breach is reportable.
- Provide technical advice on complex compliance issues to support meeting compliance and legal obligations on an ongoing basis.
- Collaborate with the broader Risk and Compliance Division to actively monitor the changing regulatory environment and support the implementation of change initiatives to ensure compliance.
- Provide expert, compliant and commercially focussed advice across the business in respect to risk and compliance obligations. This includes comprehensive analysis and guidance against legislative impacts and strategic objectives.
- Monitor legislative and regulatory changes and provide recommendations to incorporate into incident management processes and procedures.
- Support liaison with Australian Retirement Trust’s external auditors and regulators in relation to reportable breaches and advice regarding the auditor’s assessment of significance.
- Support the Senior Manager - Compliance Incidents and Breaches by acting as an escalation point within the team to resolve complex matters in addition to providing guidance and training to Compliance Analysts.
This role is available as a **permanent opportunity**, ideally on a **part time basis**.
**About you**
If this is the right role for you, your skills and qualifications will include:
- A tertiary law degree or recognised legal qualifications;
- Significant regulatory experience within the financial services industry, particularly in relation to superannuation, wealth management and insurance industries;
- Experience in interpreting complex legislation to determine potential breaches of obligations;
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills;
- Highly developed ability to build rapport with stakeholders at all levels including regulatory stakeholders;
- An ability to pragmatically utilise expert technical knowledge to deliver commercially orientated outcomes;
- Demonstrated ability to research and analyse problems;
- Enthusiasm, flexibility, resilience and commitment to excellence;
- Proven ability to advocate, promote and embed a strong culture of compliance across the business.
