Our client is a prominent medium-sized and well-respected construction & office fit-out business. The company has been thriving for over 20 years and has built its reputation on innovative design principles, working smart and providing continuous development opportunities for staff members. They also have exciting plans in the pipeline with a goal of doubling in size in the next three years.

Due to its growth plans, our client is currently seeking a talented Chief Financial Officer on a part-time basis. They are open to considering someone looking for 2-3 days per week with a view to these days increasing as the requirements of the role evolve. There is a high degree of flexibility over these days/hours being split across the week.

**The Role**:
As CFO your role will take overall responsibility for the smooth running of the finance function including planning, implementing, managing, budgeting and reporting of all finance-related activities of the company. You will provide meaningful insights to inform decision-makers at both an executive and operational level.

Your role as CFO will include (but not be limited to) the following:

- Oversee the Finance Manager and accounts department to ensure accurate delivery of all reporting activities
- Work as a key member of the ELT and prepare the monthly ELT reporting pack
- Business partner and provide advice to multiple stakeholders on a range of issues including potential future M&A activity
- Advise and be a key ‘sounding board’ on the financial implications of management decisions
- Provide KPI operational and financial analysis
- Budgeting in consultation with senior stakeholders
- Manage relationships with external parties such as Bankers, Auditors etc.
- Implement financial and internal controls, systems and policies and build on these as the business grows
- Drive improvements to increase efficiencies, minimise risk and ensure legal compliance
- Review all taxation requirements

**Your Background**:
In order to be considered for this Part-Time Chief Financial Officer role you will meet the majority of the following criteria:

- Professionally qualified as an Accountant (e.g. CA, CPA, CIMA or equivalent)
- Recent experience working in a medium-sized relatable industry (project-related business) in a broad role is a pre-requisite (e.g. construction, property development, fit-outs etc).
- Demonstrable accounting skills to produce the numbers and the smarts to tell the story behind the numbers.
- Skilled Financial Controllers wanting to step up to a broader role with more responsibility are welcome to apply, as are experienced CFOs.
- Excellent communication skills, proven stakeholder management abilities and an upbeat demeanour are prerequisites to be able to effectively communicate with a variety of personalities.
- Be able and willing to take on a part-time role for 2-3 days per week initially with a view to increasing this in future.
