Are you assertive and resilient and skilled at connecting with people, whilst thinking on your feet?
G4S supports the Australian justice system by helping government and law enforcement agencies to mitigate the impact of crime on resources, infrastructure and the economy. Our staff work in correctional facilities, courts, police custody, electronic monitoring, prisoner transport, and offender rehabilitation and management.
We operate Port Phillip Prison, the largest maximum-security prison in Victoria with over 1000 inmates, 650 employees, and multiple specialist units.
ABOUT THE ROLE
Our Correctional Officers provide a high standard of dynamic security and help us uphold the safety of staff, partner service providers, visitors, offenders and the prison facility. They also have an important duty of care to people in custody.
Applications are now open for people interested in being specially trained by G4S to supervise offenders, monitor and report on their rehabilitation activities, conduct daily searches and musters, manage inductions and transfers, assist with visits, and contribute to prison admin and reporting.

- Available for 24/7 shift work including nights and weekends
- Permanent Residency or Citizenship
- Full Driver's or P2 Licence
HOW TO APPLY
Demand is high so G4S runs a staged recruitment process which includes:
- Completing an online Virtual Job Preview within 7 days
- A tour and Group Information Session at Port Phillip Prison
- A face-to-face interview at Port Phillip Prison
- Rigorous compliance checks, including Police Checks and Fingerprinting, a high-level Physical Assessment, a 30-minute Psychological and Mental Health Assessment, verification of your most recent 2 years of Employment History, and other disclosures for security clearance by Corrections Victoria
