**Perishables Manager - Sydney**

**Your new company**
This leading freight forwarding company offers extensive international logistics services, including Sea Freight, Air Freight, Customs Clearance, Transportation, Warehousing, Distribution, and Logistics Solution. **Your New Role as a Perishables Manager**
- Identify and pursue new business opportunities in the perishables sector, both national and international market.
- Ensure compliance for the department related to RACA, RMP, MPI and other relevant authorities (including international compliance where required) are met.
- Arrange for Australian Quality Inspection Solutions (AQIS) inspections, calibration, and arrange fumigation as required.
- Support the Head of Perishables in the operations of the department, conducting performance, training & development, and appraisals as required.
- Maintain strong long-term relationships with clients, overseas agents, airlines, and internal stakeholders.
- Ensuring administrative and documentation duties for regulations are consistent and current.
- Meet department KPIs as set by the National Perishables Manger and the company.
- Liaising with clients, overseas agents, airlines, and internal departments.
- Arranging transport and cartage, preparing quotations, and negotiating rates with airlines if necessary.
- Hands-on assisting in all aspects of operation.
- Be a team player to achieve and exceed monthly targets.
- Be available and accountable to both customers and internal stakeholders.
- Other duties as assigned

**What you'll need to succeed**
- Bachelor’s Degree (Ideally logistics/supply chain management or in a related field)
- At least 3 years’ proven experience as a Perishables Manager, preferably within a logistics or freight forwarding company.
- Extensive experience in air freight, sea freight, and logistics management.
- Strong knowledge of Perishable export operations.
- Demonstrated business development experience, including identifying and pursuing new opportunities, negotiating contracts/rates, and building strategic partnerships.
- Comprehensive knowledge of various transportation channels in the freight industry.
- Understanding of industry terminology.
- Proven ability to achieve and exceed KPI and targets.
- Demonstrated ability to manage a team in a demanding environment.
- Excellent negotiation and communication skills.
- Excellent time and management and organizational skills.
- Ability to work independently and in a team setting.
- Capable of problem-solving on the spot.
- Stakeholder management skills
