The Opportunity

William Buck are developing innovative new solutions producing insights from data, and we have a fantastic opportunity for a BI Analyst to join our team.

This is an exciting new role for us in a growing team and we are looking for an individual who will work closely with key business stakeholders and the broader technology team to understand our business needs, develop and maintain reports and data visualisations, and develop prototypes that can be further developed into reports and dashboards.

As well as demonstrated technical knowledge, we are seeking a friendly, collaborative team member with fantastic customer service skills, and a problem-solving attitude.

**Key responsibilities will include**:

- Developing strong relationships with stakeholders to capture requirements and business needs
- Translate business needs into data models, business intelligence reports, data visualisation dashboards and the underlying data structures that support evidence-based decision making and insights
- Assisting with analysis, strategic advice and support across the organisation, with a focus on the use of business intelligence to drive improvement
- Working with data owners to understand the data capture processes and design validation reports to improve data quality processes

**Desired skills and Experience**:

- Experience in a similar role or an accountant who has gained skills in data analytics or software development
- Attention to detail, ability to identify technical issues, contribute to business process improvements, and to clearly document progress and solutions
- Excellent communication and data storytelling skills
- Demonstrated ability to work within a team and independently to deliver high quality results in a dynamic environment.
- Relevant tertiary qualifications (accounting, computer science, mathematics, STEM) or equivalent experience interrogating, summarising and interpreting data in Excel, Power BI and other visualisation platforms
- Demonstrated experience in data warehousing and automated reporting using Power BI or similar
- Working knowledge with accounting industry platforms (APS, Xero etc) desirable but not essential
