**Job Purpose**:
The Senior Manager, Security position acts as a strategic, trusted and confidential partner to their client group by embedding security related strategies into day-to-day work and providing professional guidance and support to relevant internal client groups with the objective of adding value to the business. The position will work closely with Management and Staff to establish, implement and oversee policies and programs by providing counsel and assistance in all security related matters, including facilitating organisation and leadership development efforts as well as investigating root causes and identifying corrective actions for security related matters to ensure L3Harris Communications Australia (L3HCA) complies with the Australian Defence Industry Security Standards.

The Australian Government Protective Security Policy Framework (PSPF) sets clear lines of accountability for protective security in non-corporate Commonwealth entities, establishing defined roles and responsibilities including the role of Chief Security Officer (CSO). As part of the Senior Manager, Security position, the CSO’s overarching responsibility is to support their accountable authority to achieve the entity’s security outcomes by providing strategic, entity-wide oversight of protective security across security governance, information security (including ICT), personnel security and physical security - either directly or through a security governance committee.

**Key Responsibilities**:

- Implement the requirements of the PSPF within the entity
- Effectively set the strategic direction for the entity’s protective security planning and risk management and integrate security into the entity’s risk and business processes and decisions, including the management and implementation of security policies, procedures, site specific risk assessments and standard operating procedures
- Champion a positive security culture that is supported by effective security awareness training
- Embed efficient and effective security management, awareness and practices and establish effective procedures to achieve security outcomes that are consistent with the PSPF and other Australian Government policies and legal requirements, including investigating, responding to and reporting on security incidents
- Realise optimal security maturity through clear understanding of vulnerabilities, decisions and future plans
- Manage the entity’s response to security-related crises, manage security performance to achieve required protections, manage incidents and emergencies and establish monitoring mechanisms across the entity
- Effectively engagement and communicate with all stakeholders within the entity to appropriately disseminate and manage intelligence and threat information
- Ensure effective information sharing within the entity and with authorised vetting agencies to facilitate the ongoing assessment and management of the suitability of personnel
- Manage the entity’s certification and accreditations in accordance with the PSPF and the entity’s DISP membership
- Provide Chief Security Officer support to L3HCA programs as required
- Undertake the duties of the COMSEC Custodian

**Experience & Education Requirements**:

- Minimum of 7+ year’s strategic Senior Manager, Security or Chief Security Officer experience.
- Demonstrated knowledge and understanding of policies and procedures contained within the Defence Security Manual (DSM) and any other authoritative sources to which it refers, including the Defence Security Policy Framework (DSPF) and Information Security Manual (ISM)
- Knowledge, seniority and authority to coordinate and administer the day-to-day security function within a Defence Industry Security Program (DISP) entity
- Experience working in a matrixed organization is an asset.
- Experience working in the Defence industry is a preference, though operating within a complex, international, matrix structure business will be considered alongside this
- Experience partnering with COE’s to drive initiatives and ensure both maximum impact and harmonization
- Ability to obtain and maintain an Australian Security Clearance (NV2).
