**About the Department**
The Finance Department brings a commercial perspective to business decision making and supports the Royal Women's business performance by providing the appropriate financial, procurement and business information and advice, as well as driving the organization’s business risk management program.
**Purpose of Position**
The Clinical Products Advisor (CPA) is responsible for the assessment, standardization, and rationalization of clinical products in all clinical areas across the Royal Women’s Hospital.
The CPA is to provide support and advice on any clinical matters to the Procurement team and to its stakeholders. This will involve evaluating and advising on new and existing clinical products with the aim of providing the Women’s stakeholders with the best-valued clinical products and outcomes.
Your duties will include (but are not limited to) the following:
- Identifying alternative fit for purpose products where a product needs to be removed from the catalogue or has been recalled.
- Making introductions, breaking down barriers and fostering collaborative working relationships between the Procurement team and clinical stakeholders.
- To help develop the knowledge and expertise of the Procurement team regarding Clinical Products, Procedures and Processes, to navigate the Clinical structure of the organization, and to understand the clinical mindset and concerns.
- To help Clinicians to understand and embrace Procurement and Contract Management and to promote the benefits of engaging with the Procurement and Supply Chain Team.
- Evaluate new and existing HSV Contracts for clinical and cost effectiveness as well as efficiency, product compliance, and opportunities for product substitution. Where product compliance is not being met, identify alternative products that comply.
- Organize Clinical Products Evaluation working groups, co-ordination of product evaluation activities and report back to the Clinical Product Evaluation Steering Group for endorsement
- Evaluate new and existing clinical products for clinical and cost effectiveness and efficiency
- Evaluate new and existing HSV contracts for clinical and cost effectiveness as well as efficiency and Product Compliance
**About You**
To be successful within this role you will need to have:
- Tertiary qualification or equivalent in a related discipline, i.e Registered Nurse and/or Registered Midwife
- Experience in a similar role within a large and complex acute healthcare provider
- Relevant clinical, quality, financial and risk management experience
- Professional and consumer focused approach to health
