**The Role**

Carer Coaches deliver effective, in-person, and online coaching support for carers through the Carer Gateway. This consists of building carers' capacity to self-identify needs and goals and empowering carers to self-manage, whilst offering support and resources on a wide range of issues related to their caring role. Day to Day you will:

- Conduct structured coaching sessions for an ongoing caseload of clients (carers) received through a referral process
- Support clients to identify areas of challenge, create goals, and guide the carer through an empowering journey to improve their lives
- Engage with clients face to face and online, as well as in the community
- Keep detailed and organised notes that are up to date and relevant

**What you bring to the role**
- Previous experience in coaching programs is preferred
- Demonstrated knowledge of the needs of older people and/or people with a disability, and their carers.
- Lived experience as a carer is preferred, but not essential.
- Ability to articulate and share personal strategies for self-care, safety, and wellbeing.
- Ability to foster and maintain a positive and optimistic outlook towards carers and share relevant lived experiences to develop trust and rapport.
- Demonstrated computer skills including Microsoft Office
