Together, these volunteers connect with vulnerable elderly participants, using several ways to reduce isolation and re-connect these lonely people back into the community. Planned (digital) visits give solitary seniors personal support, a friend to chat with and something to look forward to - week by week.

Generally, this connection is all that most isolated people need to help them flourish again. Connected and supported, participants overcome the loneliness and depression that causes so much heartache to once again find pleasure in daily living.

**The role of the Volunteer Support Officer is both interesting and rewarding**.

Volunteer Services manages the entire relationship, governance and training for volunteers from onboarding to exiting, so that older Australians can Connect, Learn and Enjoy.

Using your exemplary relationship building and customer service skills, you will support the department to ensure all participants are matched with a volunteer and for providing a positive volunteer experience. Duties include but are not limited to:

- Onboard volunteers, helping with documentation as required
- Update volunteer shifts in Polixen Workers app
- Committee member for National Standards for Volunteer Involving Organisations
- Respond to volunteer enquiries and overseeing the Volunteer inbox
- Support basic troubleshooting with Polixen, Microsoft Teams and LearnDash as required (training and support provided)
- Data entry
- Assist with engagement and events
- Liaise with other departments as required

Reporting directly to the Volunteer Manager, to succeed in this role you will need to be:

- A process driven individual who loves working within a structure
- Agile and have the ability to adapt to change
- Well organised and target orientated with some business acumen/experience
- Calm and caring, with excellent communications, coordination and relationship building skills
- Willing to learn, is self-reflective and committed to continuous development
- Patient, tolerant, respectful, and genuinely interested in engaging with people of all ages
- Understands the challenges facing the volunteer sector or willing to learn
- Energetic and self-motivated

While your professional Work from Home arrangement relates to anywhere with reliable lines of communication, you must be able to attend a training session in person in Brisbane CBD every 2 months.
