**The Role**
Within the Royal Australian Navy, Training Force (TF) is undergoing a significant transformation to ensure we are able to meet the future training demand, as well as the learner’s expectations of the larger future Navy workforce, within a continuous shipbuilding context that is delivering newer and more complex capabilities over the next 50 years.

The Business and Resource Officer role supports the Business Resource team whose primary purpose is the coordination and management of budget, procurement, administration and governance related functions under limited direction.
You will support the Business and Resource Manager in their role, enabling an understanding of commercial and financial risks and opportunities through the budget and procurement lifecycle across Training Force.

You are a capable, flexible problem solver with strong analytical and conceptual skills to be part of a multi-disciplined team delivering financial systems business support, procurement support / advice and financial systems reform initiatives. In this position you will play a key role in enabling Training Force to deliver future capability and capacity to meet outcomes.

Reporting to the Business and Resource Manager, you will assist in driving the automation of the business processes towards ongoing improvement of work practices. You will build strong relationships with internal and external stakeholders and be able to work in a small team in a multidisciplinary environment and roles with competing priorities.

Additionally, you will undertake research and analysis, conduct reviews and perform procedural, clerical, administrative support or operational support work to achieve results.

**About our Team**
The Business and Resource cell is a small team working within the Business Enterprise Management Team, Training Force Headquarters. The centralised business management functions, have teams geographically located around Australia with regional areas or responsibility to support the delivery of training to our mariners. Reporting to the Business and Resource Manager, within the Business Enterprise Management Team, Training Force Headquarters, and this role will work with other team members who are in regional Training Authorities.

To be successful in this role you will:

- Understanding of relevant financial legislation and associated rules, instruments and policies.
- Experience with financial management tools.
- Extensive experience in the administration, procurement and finance work environment.
- Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to communicate clearly and with influence.
- Demonstrated ability to show initiative, establish priorities and take responsibility when working in a dynamic, fast-paced environment.
- Ability to identify and analyse existing or potential problems and find suitable solutions for each situation.
- Have a keen eye for detail.
- Be able to work in a fluid environment by remaining flexible, agile, and adaptable.
