Join our dynamic team where we provide essential community-based outreach and recovery-oriented support to individuals aged 16 and over. As a Mental Health Support Worker, Mental Health Support Workers will support the development and monitoring of individualised recovery plans to best support consumers in reaching their recovery goals. The Support worker will assist in the assessment of consumers and delivery of individual assistance. Housing and Accommodation Support Initiative (HASI) Plus program is a statewide, high intensity transitional rehabilitation and recovery orientated program for people with a severe mental illness and significant difficulties managing their day to day living. The program offers up to 24 hours of dedicated clinical and intensive psycho-social support over seven days per week. **About the role** - **Casual opportunity working with 7-day (Mon - Sun) rotating roster 24/7;** - **Availability to work a 7-day rotating roster (6:30am to 3 pm, 2:30pm to 11pm, and 10:30pm to 7am) including weekends/weekdays, evenings, and public holidays** - **SCHADS Level 2 (Commensurate with experience) plus 25% Casual loading** The Mental Health Support Worker of HASI Plus will work with the HASI Plus, Clinical Lead, and Service Manager to ensure that the most appropriate and effective services are provided to consumers of the HASI Plus service. **Duties and responsibilities also include**: - Assist in the delivery of individual assistance for consumers with a mental illness, based on individual recovery goals to support consumers. - Assist with the monitoring and review of consumer recovery plans, in partnership with Clinical Lead/carers/family members/clinicians/ community organisations as appropriate. - Complete risk assessments and safety planning activities as required for consumers engaged with service **Essential Criteria**: - Minimum Certificate IV in Peer Mental Health, Mental health or Community Services or related field or equivalent - At least two years of experience working with consumers with severe and persistent mental illness - NSW full Driver’s License or equivalent & own Car - Understanding of the Principles of Recovery-Orientated Mental Health Practice - Demonstrated ability to develop Individual Support Plans and utilise outcome measures **What we offer** - U Rewards, access to exclusive discounts at some of your favourite and biggest retailers. - Professional development and training opportunities - A supportive and inclusive work environment - Regular supervision and mentoring - The opportunity to make a real impact in the lives of individuals on their recovery journey **How to apply** If you are passionate about mental health, committed to making a difference, and ready to work in a dynamic and supportive environment, we would love to hear from you **Closing date: 11:55pm; Thursday February 6th 2025** **_ About Uniting When_**_ you’re part of Uniting NSW.ACT, you’re part of a diverse, purpose-led team of people who are really making a difference to the world around them._ - We contribute to the work and mission of the Uniting Church in NSW and the ACT through social justice advocacy, community services and spiritual care.
