**Position Overview**:

- **Job Title**: Claim Specialist
- **Location**: Melbourne or Newcastle
- **Work Arrangement**: Hybrid role with minimum onsite attendance once a week
- **Shift Patterns**: Full-time roles available - please see shift patterns below
- **Training**: 7 weeks of full-time paid training before transitioning to the regular shift pattern
- **Training Format**: Virtual training
- **Holiday Restrictions**: No holidays can be accommodated during the training period

**Responsibilities**:

- Deliver excellent customer service by providing efficient solutions and responses to customer enquiries
- Be the first point of contact for customers who have experienced loss or damage to their home and/or contents
- Triage and progress claims as far as possible on the first call, making things as easy as possible for our customers
- Provide support to customers with existing claim enquiries within policy entitlements, organisation of repairs & management throughout the life of the claim
- Ensure our customers receive the right support at the right time and reinforce Suncorp’s commitment to ‘building futures and protecting what matters’
- Listen actively, build trust, and ask relevant questions to exceed customer expectations and improve outcomes
- Contribute to maintaining a balanced team culture that prioritises people, customers, risk, and performance

**Qualifications & Skills**:

- Passion for delivering exceptional customer service with demonstrated experience in customer service roles
- Proficiency in using computer systems and ability to navigate multiple systems.
- Strong verbal communication skills to listen, build rapport, and effectively convey complex information
- High level of resilience, empathy, and adaptability to handle various customer situations
- Commitment to self-development and eagerness to enhance skills and capabilities in the role through coaching and feedback
- Ability to work collaboratively as a supportive team member

**Shift Options**:

- Full Time Sat, Tue, Wed, Thu & Fri Start Window 06:00-08:00 37.5 hrs per week
- Full Time Mon, Tue, Wed, Thu & Fri Start Window 10:00-12:00 37.5 hrs per week
- _‘Start window’ means you can be asked to start at any time between the hours shown. You must be able to fully commit to the shift shown._
