**The Company**
Our client has a great family history and was founded in 1958. In 1980 the company moved into large-scale production of vegetables and began supplying major supermarket chains throughout Australia and New Zealand.

In 2004, they expanded into specialised snack foods and today they maintain more than 200,000 trees and harvest about 2000 tonnes of the product each year. In 2020 construction was completed for a state-of-the-art and value add processing plant. With around $35.5 million turnover and 107 employees, the business operates from a head office in Bundaberg.

**The Role**

While our client continues to grow they are looking for a Quality & Technical Manager who can progress AAA+ status by implementing and rolling out the BRC food safety certification.

Role and responsibilities include (and not limited by):

- Implement quality assurance activities, programs, and in-production testing for the entire supply chain plan.
- Develop and document quality control procedures and policies to ensure products meet all quality standards, achieve HACCP and all required accreditations while overseeing new product development.
- Manage a team of 3 direct reports
- Look after production Quality - testing on products (including chemical and microbiology clearance), environmental monitoring, product integrity, machinery compliance and all CCP’s are met.
- Packaging - review product quality and standards, create documentation for all processes (including Standard Operation Procedures).
- Drive compliance to all QA processes, internal and external audit compliance.
- Oversee new product development, formulation, testing, and scalability.
- Management of customer feedback and complaints system.
- Maintain a safe and healthy work environment, including any workplace health and safety hazards or improvement opportunities.
- Oversee and organise the systems and processes to ensure the company maintains Quality and Food Safety Systems certification.
- Rolling out and implementing the BRC food safety certification is a key goal to achieve AAA+ quality standards.

**Skills & Experience**
- The right Quality & Technical Manager will have experience and knowledge in how to achieve BRC safety certification.
- You should be highly resilient, have energy and be highly positive
- Know how to engage all levels of stakeholders. Experience in fast and changing environments
- Know how to articulate why and how you want to achieve the goals & tasks for overall improvements
- You should possess a strong technical, project and change management background
- A proven track record of continuous improvement and innovation
