Lead and manage all aspects of non-urgent PTS operations and performance including service standards, capability, quality, logistics, reporting requirements, industrial relations, workplace health and safety and discipline, to meet QAS operational service delivery needs and business objectives.Collaborate with Queensland Health, other health service providers, professionals, specialist business teams and vendors to deliver fit-for-purpose non-urgent ambulance services ensuring a high standard of quality, economy and safety are achieved.Provide leadership to ongoing patient safety and improved clinical care through active participation in safety and quality committees, clinical audits, peer reviews and clinical quality assurance processes. Manage and coordinate occupational health and safety requirements including actions to optimise the awareness, preparedness, safety, protection, health management and injury prevention for QAS staff.Ensure that the education and training for Patient Transport Officers (PTOs) and Operations Centre staff is delivered to the appropriate QAS standards and that it meets the requirements for accreditation within the QAS.Provide expertise, support and positive contribution for the development, implementation and review of operational policies, procedures, strategies and projects for non-urgent PTS operations.Develop and maintain productive business relationships within the QAS, Queensland Health, emergency service organisations, other government agencies and with key external stakeholders and partners, including representing the QAS in the media as required by the Director SEQ PTS.Identify, document, evaluate and report on performance issues and risks as they relate to non-urgent patient transport operations, and take appropriate action as required.Provide ongoing oversight, leadership and management support across PTS operations including implementing plans, projects and procedures to achieve high quality standards and performance including oversight and coordination of the SEQ PTS Operational Supervisors on the day of service delivery.Represent the Director SEQ PTS in consultations, meetings and discussions with a broad range of stakeholders, including the QAS, Queensland Health, emergency service organisations, community committees and consultancies.Contribute to indigenous and multicultural advancement in the QAS by encouraging the development and implementation of programs which support relevant government initiatives.Lead and manage staff in emergency management capability for disasters, major incidents and mass crowd gatherings, in close consultation with the Director Operations - Emergency Management, State Headquarters. Maintain credentialed scope of clinical practice as approved by the Medical Director and/or Commissioner, QAS. As a leader, actively demonstrate and promote the QAS's approach of zero tolerance towards violence and commit to supporting those affected by domestic and family violence in accordance with QAS policies and mechanisms. Model and influence a workplace culture of gender equality, respectful relationships, diversity, inclusion, employee safety and support. Fulfil the responsibilities of this role in accordance with Queensland Public Service and QAS values.
