Research Fellow

Based in UniSA STEM at the Mawson Lakes campus
- 2 x full-time, fixed term contracts until 11 June 2027
- Commencement Salary: $112,892 per annum (plus 17% superannuation)

**About You**

You will have a research focus in a STEM related area such as mathematics, statistics, computer/data science, combined with an interest in AI and machine learning. You will ideally have experience in coding language such as R and Python. You are able to work both independently and as part of a research team, and use your exceptional communication skills to prepare effective reports and education materials.

**About the Role**

You will contribute to the research efforts of UniSA STEM and the Industrial AI Research Centre, performing research aligned to the achieving objectives of a variety of grants and projects underway in this field.

**Core Responsibilities**
- Conduct high quality research, under limited supervision and in collaboration with industry and other stakeholders, to achieve planned research outcomes
- Design and perform a range of experiments, including appropriate controls, to achieve planned research outcomes
- Prepare or contribute to the preparation of refereed journal publications, conference and seminar papers arising from the research
- Provide advice and supervision to postgraduate students in the appointee’s area of expertise

**Essential Skills and Experience**
- A doctorate in an appropriate Science or Engineering area relevant to the research area
- Evidence of high-quality research output commensurate with the length of research career, which is published and presented in appropriate forums
- Experience and strong research and development skills in coding in languages such as R or Python or an equivalent
- Experience in simulation studies, uncertainty quantification, machine learning or statistics
- Excellent written and oral communication skills demonstrated through written work such as research reports, research publications and educational materials, and through effective liaison with external partners, colleagues and students
