**Who are we looking for?**

Queensland University of Technology (QUT) is seeking a Recreational Sport Officer to join HiQ, Student Services and Wellbeing, Administrative Division.

The Recreational Sport Officer is part of the QUT Sport team and is responsible for administering health and wellbeing initiatives for all students, staff and the broader QUT community. The role provides administrative support and coordination of QUT Sport’s key initiatives which include but are not limited to Social Sport, Pop Up, Esports, Intervarsity Flagship sporting events and other student and community wellbeing programs with a core focus on removing the barriers to participation and engaging a wide variety of students.

**About the Administrative Division**
Administrative Division supports the governance and operations of the University, including planning and quality, facilities and services for students and staff. The Administrative Division is led by the Vice-President (Administration) and University Registrar.

**About Students Services and Wellbeing**
The Student Services and Wellbeing portfolio leads the university-wide strategy and coordination of all non-academic matters related to the student experience. The portfolio of Student Services and Wellbeing delivers a range of services across the student life cycle, as well as providing advice and leadership to the university on a broad range of student and staff matters, including social justice and public policy.

Student Services and Wellbeing consists of the following departments: Student Administration, Student Engagement, Equity, Student Services, and Health, Safety & Environment (HSE). The portfolio also has strong links to and works closely with QUT’s Oodgeroo Unit and Human Resources.
Student Services and Wellbeing aspires to be a collaborative, distinctive and innovative department that makes a real and positive difference to students, from pre-tertiary to graduation and beyond. The portfolio is focused on delivering services to support the university’s commitment to an exceptional student experience, leading to positive outcomes in success, retention and completion. Student Engagement comprises of HiQ Contact Centre and Service Points, Future Student & Conversion, Engagement teams, and Sport. The Student Engagement team is responsible for delivering co-curricular programs that further build QUT’s sense of community and support students to develop their professional profiles, networks and employability.

Sport is an integral part of a positive student experience with our program closely aligned to QUT’s strategic priorities and values. QUT Sport support our developing athletes, fosters connection and inclusiveness, enabling innovative research, while responding to industry needs.

**What you need to succeed**

You will demonstrate:
**Selection Criteria**
1. Education, training and/or experience equivalent to completion of a degree, or completion of an associate diploma with at least two years’ subsequent relevant work experience in sports administration and / or coaching role.
2. Demonstrated experience in supporting sports pathway programs targeted to a wide span of participants.
3. Demonstrated experience in coordinating initiatives and events within the community, preferably targeting all abilities inclusive of para-sports participants.
4. Demonstrated ability to work autonomously and efficiently to meet timelines, with high attention to detail.
5. Demonstrated commitment to the provision of excellent and confidential client service, to staff at all levels within the University.
6. Highly developed written and oral communication and interpersonal skills, including the ability to work collaboratively with others and effectively liaise and negotiate with a diverse range of clients and stakeholders.
