Assistant Merchandise Planner | BONDS | Kew, Melbourne
We are recruiting for an all-round awesome Assistant Merchandise Planner to join our growing Bonds Planning team on an initial 12 month contract As an AMP you play a pivotal support role to the Planner in the maximising of sales through effective planning, quantification, analysis, and proactive management of financials including Open to Buy.
Planning across a growing category means you need to be a strong and confident stakeholder manager who can network, engage with and foster relationships across the business. You are highly numerate and analytical and love working in tandem with the Buying team to trade your business efficiently and effectively.
Your Mentor and Manager, an open-minded, experienced and flexible Merchandise Planner, will provide you with high levels of guidance and development opportunities that will allow you to hone your planning and analysis skills and build on your existing planning foundations.
A day in the life of
- Analysis of department, class, sub-class and product performance to identify trends, and what action needs to be taken
- Basic's forecasting
- Management of stock holdings to minimise inefficient stock
- Develop exit strategies for slow moving lines
- Manage over and under deliveries across the different channels
- Ensure store and online performance is maximised through accurate stock levels and regular stock deliveries
- Raising and managing seasonal retail orders
- Post-seasonal review and performance analysis
- Advise buyer on basics range rationalisation through forecasting and analysis

What we are looking for...
We are looking for someone who wants a career in Planning. This is a fantastic step for an experienced Allocator who is ready and willing to take the next leap, or a Junior Planner looking for a development opportunity. You must have had a minimum of two years in either role to be considered.
In addition, we are looking out for the following skills and background:

- Tertiary qualifications in business / marketing / retail
- Specific experience in a high SKU department is highly desirable
- Analytical capability - this role requires you to be able to support the Planner and adjacent teams with reporting and detailed analysis
- Excel is your friend best friend You must be comfortable navigating Excel and using it to manipulate data
