About the School
On Monday 24 January, 1983, Browns Plains State School opened its door with 249 students. Enrolments are now around 600 students from prep to year 6 and an addition number of children who access our ECDP (Early Years Development Program). There are over 50 teachers on staff, including a Technologies teacher, specialist LOTE, physical education, music and support teachers (inclusion program and differentiation), a principal, a guidance officer and other support staff. We hold high expectations in our classrooms, playgrounds and in the wider community and we collaborate with parents to achieve these goals. Browns Plains State School staff are passionate and dedicated. Each day they look for new ways to improve and grow our school so that every child can flourish. Together with our families and students we all work together to make our school 'a better place to be'.
About the Role
As the Deputy Principal you will have responsibility for the following:
- Assist the Principal to lead the school community to develop, articulate and commit to a shared educational vision focussed on providing quality learning outcomes for all students.
- Deputise for the Principal when required.
- Uphold the deputy principalship as a values based, ethical and moral activity.
- Embed socially just practices in daily school life.
- Set high standards for student and staff performance.
- Actively participate in lifelong learning and ongoing professional development.
- Form partnerships with parents, other government agencies, community groups, industry and business.
- Be futures oriented and strategic.
- Understand the legislation and policies that impact on schooling.
- Manage resources to achieve goals.
