What You Will Be Doing
Peninsula Health is an approved provider of VicRoads' Drink Drug Drive Behaviour Change Program. This role sits within Peninsula Health’s Health and is based at the Community Health sites - mainly Frankston. The position involves facilitating the Drink, Drug and Intensive Drink Drug Drive Behaviour Change Programs in accordance with VicRoads requirements.
The VicRoads' Drink Drug Drive Behaviour Change Programs (DDDBCP) is based on cognitive behavioural and Motivational Interviewing approaches and includes screening for serious alcohol and other drug problems. The facilitator runs the group within these frameworks, keeping in line with the program handbooks, manuals, and guidelines and engage and work with participants on preventing drink and or drug driving in the future. In addition to the group facilitation, the facilitator will be required to screen and refer participants to AOD services for assessment and treatment and to advise VicRoads of the referral. There are program and organisational related administrative tasks involved as well.
The DDD BCP team at Peninsula Health is a small and supportive team. We are client centred and enjoy supporting the most vulnerable in achieving their goals.
**Key Responsibilities**
- Facilitating the delivery of DDD BCP in accordance with VicRoads procedures, manuals, and requirements.
- Approved Facilitators will have skills in behaviour change, group therapeutic processes and working with mandated populations.
- Take a motivational interviewing approach that is engaging, non-threatening, non-judgemental and is similar to other group-based behaviour change programs.
- Incorporate evidence-based design with a focus on best practice principles.
- Adhere to documentation and certification requirements
- Make contact and follow up with participants as per program requirements
- Facilitator related administrative tasks as per program and organisation requirements
- Complete the Vic Roads assessment process

**What You Need**
- Relevant higher qualification (ideally a minimum of bachelor degree) in Psychology, Social Work, Health, Human Services or other related qualification.
- Relevant courses in AOD, group facilitation, and forensic fundamentals (please see Position description - selection criteria for outline of courses)
- Experience working in a AOD service with clients with co-existing mental health and AOD issues. Experience in working with mandated clients and Behaviour change interventions
- Recent Motivational Interviewing training
- Ability to work with clients who are intoxicated.
- Demonstrates knowledge in conducting assessments with clients experiencing AOD and legal problems.
- Compliance with all relevant legislation and a current drivers license with no more than 6 demerit points or any license cancellation/suspension in the last 10 years.
