**The Role
**The **_Category Assistant _**role brings the BIG W Strategy to life by providing the Commercial Leaders, Stakeholders and Suppliers high levels of support whilst maintaining overall data integrity to contribute to maximise sales, profit and customer satisfaction and optimise inventory. The role on offer is a **_6 month contract full-time _**opportunity supporting the ‘ **_Small Appliances _**’ category within Home & Everyday.
- Key responsibilities will include:
- Support Category Manager with supplier correspondence and relations which contribute to overall business VOS
- Support the development and maintenance of the assortment plan & buy plan and the collection of new article information to ensure data integrity
- Maintain data integrity (include but not limited to create article shells, maintain master data, discontinue products, maintain accurate price, and promotional information) to support the Commercial team and stakeholders to deliver towards business strategy
- Support Category Manager with raising, adjusting and maintaining contracts and purchase orders (local only) to ensure accuracy of contracts & orders
- Build deep knowledge of categories to provide support to Commercial Leaders

- Ideally, you will bring the following to the role:
- Demonstrated experience in an administrative role (3+ years expereience)
- Experience working on SAP will be highly regarded
- Retail working experience would be advantageous
