**About Brunswick Baths Aquatic Centre**

The YMCA has been engaged by Moreland City Council to work together to deliver the vision of an Active Moreland for the entire Moreland community. The YMCA's work in partnership with Council extends to all corners of Moreland however is based at the six Aquatic and Leisure Facilities in Brunswick City Baths, Coburg Leisure Centre, Coburg Outdoor Pool, Fawkner Leisure Centre, Pascoe Vale Outdoor Pool and Oak Park Sports and Aquatic Centre. Brunswick Baths is a year-round facility consisting of a heated 50 metre outdoor pool, Program Pool, spa, sauna, steam room, splash park & Toddler pool, fully equipped gymnasium, group fitness rooms and training zones and crèche.

**About the role**

As a Lifeguard with YMCA Victoria, you’ll help provide a safe swimming environment for all centre visitors. You’ll be patient, focused and friendly to keep pool-users informed and safe.
- Ability to supervise a large aquatic space while pro-actively ensuring a safe environment in and around the pool area
- Maintain concentrated observation of pools and patrons to anticipate and respond to problems
- Ensure facility rules are being obeyed whilst at the same time educating facility users about safe aquatic practices.
- Carry out intervention and preventative action to ensure the safety and wellbeing of patrons, the facility and equipment

This is a part time position and the hourly rate is $23.55 + Super.

**About you**
- Ability to make decisions while under pressure
- Being able to manage conflicts with patrons and users
- Ability to stay alert and vigilant in a repetitive work environment
- Ability to multitask
- Providing excellent customer service for all members and guests
- Experience in the Aquatics and Leisure industry will be highly regarded

**Essential Qualifications**
- Aquatic Pool Lifeguard Certificate
- First Aid Certificate
- CPR certificate
