**We have an exciting opportunity within Planning, Building and Laws department for a **Construction Management - Permits & Inspections Officer.**

**The Planning, Building & Laws department comprises of Development Planning, BPi and Municipal Laws & Public Assets. Each team within the department manages an area of approvals, registration, and statutory compliance.**

**The Department takes a customer service driven approach to managing the development of the city, protection of amenity and support to residents, businesses, and visitors.**

**Your role will focus on the following**:

- **Coordinate information and educational requirements for all related statutory permits**:

- **Liaise with Council’s Transport & Traffic, Asset Management, Parks departments and service authorities to ensure uniformity and consistency of requirements in all works on Council land**:

- **Liaise with Senior Construction Management Officer to ensure inspections needs for Permits are met**

**Skills, experience and qualifications**:

- **Qualifications relating to building inspections, construction, traffic, or project management (desirable)**:

- **Minimum 2 years’ experience in Construction Local Law or construction industry/built environment**:

- **Local Government experience and extensive knowledge of construction related Local Laws**:

- **Local knowledge of roads, related pedestrian and traffic density, buildings in the neighbourhood and construction requirements for road space and experience in traffic management legislation, procedures, and requirements.**:

- **Experience in appraisal of temporary structures, scaffold, gantries, prescribed temporary structures and Local Law Permits**:

- **Demonstrated ability to exercise personal judgement and decision making when undertaking enforcement - NTC’s / Infringements**
- **Industry White Card**

**Mandatory Pre-employment screening**:

- **Current Victorian Driver's License**
