**The impact you'll have**:

- At the Workplace Injury Commission, we've helped thousands of injured workers and employers to resolve their disputes and move forward with their lives. We're a robust Victorian Government statutory authority that's making an impact.
- You will play an important role in setting strategic direction for data and information management and embedding and maturing data governance and information management practices and culture. Joining a collaborative culture, you will partner across the business and ensure frameworks, practices and governance are developed and applied at an enterprise level.
- Harnessing your leadership qualities, you will lead a small team, support employees and improve the quality, integrity and use of data and records across the organisation.

**Who we're looking for**:

- To succeed in this role, you will have:

- Demonstrated experience working in a management role relating to information management, privacy and data governance, ideally within a Victorian Government Department or agency.
- Expert knowledge of relevant information management legislative and government obligations, including Privacy and Data Projection Act 2014, Health Records Act 2001, Public Records Act 1973, and associated OVIC and PROV Standards.
- Previous experience as a Privacy Officer or equivalent role, managing and responding to breaches, mitigating risks, maturing assets and processes that support all areas of the organisation.
- Strong leadership qualities with the ability to provide mentorship, direction and commitment, whilst working in a team environment.
- Ability leading and facilitating change management approaches focusing on improving data and information governance initiates and processes including development and delivery of training and awareness programs to employees
- Degree in the field of Information Management or Data Governance, and/or demonstrated experience within the field backed by industry accreditation and development
- Ideally, you have a knowledge of the Freedom of Information Act (Vic) 1982 and had previous experience as working as Freedom of Information Officer or equivalent.
