**ABOUT THE ROLE**:
- Werribee Mercy Hospital is a public hospital in Melbourne’s south western region providing comprehensive and collaborative care for women and their families in the surrounding areas. Midwifery in the Home (MIITH) is a department that provides holistic best practice community care in the postnatal phase of a woman’s pregnancy journey.
- The MITH Department provides community care 7 days a week and is a dynamic and fast pace unit lead by a team of senior midwives that ensure and facilitate the continuing support and care for our families out in their local communities.
- Midwifery in the Home Department - Werribee Mercy Hospital
- 1.4 EFT ANUM
- Midwifery in the home clinicians are responsible for the ongoing care of the women and infants once discharged home from our hospital
- Form an integral part of a multi-disciplinary team providing a highly responsive and flexible service to clients and their families
- The role includes ensuring that women are empowered and educated regarding their postnatal care and wellbeing inclusive of providing infant nutrition, ongoing recovery from birth, family planning, community support service awareness & adapting and transitioning to life with a baby/babies.
**ABOUT YOU**:
- Are you an experienced midwife with a drive to support and care for our families as they transition back into their communities in the postnatal period? If you are passionate about Women’s Health and advocacy this is the team you want to be a part of.
- Minimum 3 years’ experience as a Registered Midwife in Postnatal and or Community Midwifery
- AHPRA Registration as a Registered Midwife
- Current Full Victorian drivers licence
- Previous leadership experience or worked as an AMUM
- Ability to work within a team as well as work autonomously and independently
- Ability to manage, monitor, troubleshoot and escalate clinical care or challenges
- Excellent time management skills
- Enthusiasm, passion and motivation specific to Women’s health and wellbeing throughout the pregnancy continuum
