Ophthalmic Assistant/medical Receptionist

Subiaco, Australia Specialist Clinic Subiaco Full time

Specialist Clinic Subiaco are currently looking for an Ophthalmic Assistant/ Medical Receptionist to cover a period of maternity leave which is expected to run from February 2025 until August 2025.

During a typical week, we would normally require you to work 25 hours over 5 days. We are not open on weekends. Longer hours may be required when covering for sick or annual leave.

**Responsibilities will include**:

- Perform patient testing such as visual acuity, visual field tests, biometry, OCT scans, and contrast sensitivity testing
- Preparing for minor in room procedures
- Sterilising of medical instruments
- Re-stocking consult and procedure rooms
- Assisting with general office duties including patient file preparation, scanning, faxing, filing, and mailing
- Greeting patients
- Attending to phone calls and enquires
- Scheduling and following up appointments
- Processing Medicare Billings and Payments
- Monitoring and ordering stationery and office supplies

**Qualifications and Experience**
- Good computer literacy and organisat
- Minimum one year's experience in a medical receptionist / secretarial role / clinical environment
- Ability to work semi autonomously when required,
- Understanding of Medicare, DVA and Private health care systems
- Experience using medical software programs (Best Practice preferred)

Contract length: 6 months

Pay: $29.00 - $33.00 per hour

Expected hours: 20 - 25 per week
