**About Lady Loretta**

This is your opportunity to join the Redpath Australia (RPA) team at the world class Lady Loretta Mine. The mine is located approximately 140km North-West of Mt Isa, where Redpath is responsible for all facets of the mining operation. The operation consists of approximately 250 employees producing approximately 1.6Mtpa (ore) from the underground mining operation. The scope of work covers the whole operation from underground mining to crushing and loading of road trains. The Lady Loretta Operation has been set up using industry-leading technology and Redpath have continued these standards with mobilisation of new equipment with an emphasis on technology to support safe and efficient production outcomes.

**About the role**

Reporting to the Operations Manager - Lady Loretta, the Underground Manager is responsible for achieving the Mine’s objectives and targets to ensure the safe and successful operation of the Mine.

This includes the following:

- Hold the Statutory Underground Managers Ticket;
- Working closely with the Operations Manager and HSET Manager, ensure the safe and efficient operation of the mine;
- Manage Operations budget and administer the cost control systems using RPA tools;
- Effectively manage the Underground Workforce;
- Direct, monitor and lead employees in the development and implementation of work plans to achieve Mine objectives and compliance with Redpath policies and procedures;
- Provide accurate and timely reporting related to the Lady Loretta project to both the Client and Redpath;
- Develop and maintain a climate of innovation where all employees can challenge work methods to improve safety, productivity and profitability;
- Implement LEAN/5S philosophies to lead the Project to achieve the project objectives and targets, ensuring the successful Operation of the project;
- Ensure timely and accurate submission of the monthly claim;

**Skills & Experience**
- Hold QLD 1st Class Mine Managers Certificate of Competency;
- Hold QLD Practicing Certificate;
- Strong and demonstratable knowledge of QLD Mining and Explosives Legislation;
- Extensive experience in incident investigation using ICAM Methodology;
- Minimum 5 years management experience at a senior level;
- 10+ years experience in an underground mining environment, preferably some in the contracting space;
- Tertiary qualification in Mining Engineering or related field;
- Strong knowledge in Underground Mine Planning;
- Hold or be able to gain an Underground Senior Site Executive qualification;
- Outstanding people management and leadership skills in a large project environment;
- Solid commercial skills and experience in managing budgets, costs and resource management;
- Strong customer relations skills;
- Experienced in the utilisation of Risk Management tools;
- Superior problem solving and adaptability;
- Strong computer skills including advanced Microsoft Word and Excel and a working knowledge of mine design and scheduling software e.g Deswik;
- Strong safety, quality and customer focus;
- Strong interpersonal, leadership, conflict resolution and team skills;
- Ability to manage and develop subordinates;
- Solid planning and organisational skills;
- Attention to detail ensuring all standards and compliance are met;
- A drive for continuous improvement & LEAN processes;
- manual drivers licence;
