John Holland is GoldlinQ's recommended design and construction contractor for GCLR3, to extend the existing light rail network by 6.7 kms from Broadbeach to Burleigh Heads, including eight new light rail stations, two new light rail-bus connections, and intersection upgrades along the alignment.

Jointly funded by the Australian and Queensland governments, and the City of Gold Coast, this city-shaping project will link communities to business centres, shopping, dining, education, and medical facilities and cater to the Gold Coast’s expected population growth in the coming decades.

As we begin to ramp up activities on this iconic Queensland project, we have an exciting and challenging opportunity for a **Quality Control Manager**.

**Key Responsibilities include, but are not limited to**:

- Identify, manage and monitor quality objectives, requirements, risks and other issues that may adversely impact the surety of successful project delivery.
- Ensure that the project conforms with ISO and AS/NZS regulatory / legal requirements.
- Lead the Quality Surveillance and Audit Program
- Provide technical advice and assistance to the Project Team for quality-related activities.
- Handle client expectations and communicate effectively with the project team.
- Under direction, develop and recommend inspection and sampling techniques, quality control plans, process control procedures, testing and analysis procedures to ensure that products meet specifications and standard.
- Manage the schedule of hold/witness points, milestones and records and ensure nominated authorities to release are accepted by all relevant stakeholders.
- Manage and maintain the quality risk within the Workplace Risk Assessment
- Manage and maintain the Trade and Equipment Criticality Matrix
- Coordinate the Codes & Standards Estimate Cost Effects Assessments
- Assist in careful selection of subcontractors and confirmation that their work complies.
- Coordinate the Subcontractor Performance Ratings
- Investigate all Class 2 and Class 3 nonconformances; resolve process failures with effective corrective actions; share lessons learnt across the business.
- Prepare and delivery of quality of product training to drive workmanship standards.
- Collaboratively work with discipline leads to meet relevant sustainability requirements related to carbon emissions reduction (via sustainable materials selection, process efficiency, validation, and materials waste reduction), are delivered to a high-quality standard.

**To be successful you will have**:

- Bachelor Degree course in Engineering, Science, Building, Construction, Quality Management or Project Management
- 10+ years engineering or construction experience, preferably road infrastructure
- 8+ years relevant experience in leading a quality control / surveillance team in the construction sector
- Quality Representative (large projects) (5-10 years)
- Incident / Non-conformance Investigation practices (5+ years)
- Risk management practices (5+ years)
- Audit management practices (5+ years)
- Awareness of relevant Australian and International standards, both technical and those related to management systems.
