**The Role**
As Assistant Director - Business Services you will lead a small multi-discipline team to deliver administration and corporate performance outcomes for the Wide Area and Space Surveillance Systems Program Office (WASS SPO). You will set clear direction for you work area, and operate to a cyclic yearly work-plan.
You will provide administrative support across the unit to enable the delivery of world-leading Defence capability. No two days would be the same - you will adeptly transition between functions, serving as the central hub connecting executive stakeholders and delivering agile problem-solving solutions.
You will be the driving force behind our administrative, communications, security and facilities management functions, ensuring operational excellence through your leadership. You will develop processes, implement work plans, set performance indicators, and review individual, team and business performance, identifying opportunities for continuous improvement.
You will be responsible for nurturing an inclusive and respectful work environment by developing and managing crucial stakeholder relationships within our integrated workforce. You will develop and implement a comprehensive communication strategy for internal and external stakeholders, including content creation and consultation.

WASS SPO is an exciting environment to work in, offering rewarding opportunities in world leading Defence capabilities. WASS SPO acquires and sustains Space Domain Awareness and High Frequency Radar capabilities for the Australian Defence Force.
The Program Support Office (PSO) is the key enabling business unit within WASS SPO. We operate at a fast-pace to deliver outcomes to our acquisition, sustainment and export teams, as well as Defence senior leadership. The PSO is responsible for establishing and implementing whole of SPO business processes and governance frameworks in the functional areas of Corporate Performance, Quality Assurance, Workplace Health & Safety, Security, workforce, Facilities and Risk.
As an Australian Public Servant in Defence, you will be supported in balancing work and family priorities and the remuneration package includes a generous superannuation contribution (15.4%).
