The Main Duties and Responsibilities of a Mobile Garage Door Service Technician / Installer:
*
*
- Installation of all types garage doors including roller, sectional, tilt doors and swing/slide gates.
- Installation of Openers for all types of garage doors, Roller Shutters and Gates
- Service and Repairs To all Types of Garage Doors, Gates, Roller Shutters and Openers.
- Customer demonstrations of product usage.
- Maintaining installation/servicing records.
- Continual on the job training.
- Commercial Roller shutter / motor repairs maintenance and automation.
- Weekend and after hours work available.
- Rostered Saturday.
- Work independently but also follow direction.
- Onsite Customer Service.
- Invoicing Customers.
- Working with Office Staff.
- Driving from Job Site to Job Site.

- Building / Construction industry experience
- Experience in electrical / mechanical fault finding
- Manual Drivers Licence.
- Welding and Fabrication skills
- Basic Multimeter Experience
- Hand Tools Experience.
- Power Tools Experience.
- Customer Service Skills.
- Be willing to work overtime if required.
- Be willing to do Emergency Call Outs
- Be physically fit with the ability to do some Heavy lifting
- Attention to detail.
- Able to work independently as well as in a team environment.
- You must have the right to work unrestricted in Australia.
- Be willing to drive across Melbourne and Surrounding suburbs and some regional.
- Ability to pass a drug screening and background check.
- Ability to pass a police check
- Must have not previously applied.

The successful applicant preferably has the following attributes:

- Previous Garage Door or Gate experience.
- Fork Lift Licence
- Scissor Lift Licence
- White Card

An average day for a tech
*
*
7:30 am - start at the factory to the pick parts required for your days jobs.
*
*
7:45 am - Out the door an on your way to the 1st of up to 6 scheduled jobs.
*
*
3:00-6:00 pm - You return to the factory to return stock and throw out rubbish.
*
*
The length of your day is heavily dependent on your ability to be self-motivated and work efficiently.
*
*
Depending on the type of jobs and competency at your craft, your scheduled jobs can range in duration. If you work fast (without sacrificing attention to detail) and finish early you still get paid for the full day, However on the other hand, sometimes days take longer than expected due to a variety of factors. This means that you need to be capable of working late. There are some days (although rare) that you may be needed to work 10 hours. If this doesn't suit your lifestyle please do not apply.
