**About the role**

As Learning and Development Coordinator you will be part of the Organisational Development team, responsible for developing the capabilities of employees within the Infrastructure and Environment Department (IED). You will be located both at the Nicholas St office and onsite at our council depots. Your main focus will be on the management and administration of training schedules and programs to meet legislative requirements as well as coordinating external courses and conferences that align to departmental and employee development objectives.

Some of your key responsibilities will include:

- Coordinate and administer competency, training and professional development initiatives for the Infrastructure and Environment Department
- Develop and manage contractual relationships with training providers through effective supplier and operational contract management
- Establish and maintain information management and other administrative systems to monitor the training, assessment and professional development of staff
- Develop and maintain employee onboarding and offboarding principles and programs
- Maintain accurate records and reporting for learning and development initiatives, including the evaluation of external learning solutions
- Conduct training needs analysis to determine the knowledge, skills and abilities required for the department and how council will address the training needs.

To be successful in this role you will have:

- Interpersonal, supplier and stakeholder management skills to develop and maintain collaborative and productive relationships with internal and external stakeholders
- Experience developing, preparing, and analysing reports, as well as providing advice and recommendations, ideally regarding training and professional development programs
- Organisational and project management skills, including delivering change effectively in a complex multi-stakeholder and regulatory environment
- Experience in selecting, coordinating, managing, and evaluating external training providers, as well as requesting and managing operational contracts
- Experience developing and maintaining a forward training schedule, including ensuring regulatory and industry certificates and licences are up-to-date and reflect current standards.
