The Role - Disability Support Worker:

- Seeking support workers for Ashfield region to commit to regular and consistent shift schedules.
- Support male individual with bed transfer, assistance in showering, meal preparation, transport assistance ( must have own car)
- Must be creative and resourceful to assist customers achieve their goals and build capacity.
- Passionate, empathetic & committed to provide the best care to each individual that encourages self determination
- Delivering high quality person centered support for an ordinary life
- Daily living assistance in the home and the community
- Support physical health and emotional well-being
- Assisting individuals to and from community-based activities and appointments.
- Complete all relevant documentation and reporting as required

Skills and Experience:

- Outstanding interpersonal, communication and resilience skills
- Proven skills and abilities in providing quality support to people with mental illness and/ or disabilities
- Demonstrated experience supporting low & high needs clients
- Adaptability to work with different individuals including complex and challenging behavior's.
- Able to cope with the physical and mental demands of the job
- a strong sense of professional boundaries
- ability to work as part of team

Ideal Requirements:

- demonstrated experience supporting clients with physical disabilities & Mental Health incl.
- Must have own car for this particular particpant.

Mandatory Requirements:

- 6+ months paid work in Disability/ Individual Support/ Mental Health
- Cert III in Disability or Individual Support or higher is highly regarded
- NSW NDIS Workers Screening Clearance
- First Aid Certificate issued within the last 3 years
- CPR Certificate issued within the last 12 months
- COVID 19 - Vaccination Record
- Evidence of work rights (e.g. Passport, Birth Certificate or VISA)
- NSW Unrestricted Driver License
- Australian business number (ABN)
- Able to work unsupervised and part of a team
