Housing and Accommodation Support Initiative (HASI) of Uniting is a community outreach service assisting adults with mental health issues to maintain successful accommodation, as well as assisting them to participate in their communities.

**Role Overview**:
The Peer Support Worker will work with the Team Leader/Service Manager to ensure that the most appropriate and effective services are provided to consumers to aid them in reaching their recovery goals.

Duties will include:

- Assist with the monitoring of consumers and the development of individual recovery plans based on individual recovery goals.
- Regularly review consumer recovery plans, in partnership with carers/family members, clinicians and community organisations as appropriate.
- Liaise with specialists and other to ensure consumers receive timely and relevant support, information and referrals.
- Work collaboratively to maintain effective sustainable relationships, internally and externally to support care pathways for service users

**Essential Criteria**:

- Certificate IV in Peer Work or willingness to complete
- Drivers License
- Two (2) or more years experience in your field of expertise.
- Personal lived experience of mental health illness
- Comprehensive understanding of the recovery process and ability to appropriately communicate a lived experience
- Ability to establish relationships and maintain appropriate boundaries with consumers
- Ability to provide individualised psychosocial support to people living with severe and persistent mental illness
- Demonstrated ability to develop individual support plans with consumers
- Working knowledge and commitment to consumers’ rights & responsibilities

Even better:

- Certificate IV in Community Services, Mental Health or other relevant area
- ASIST training and/or experience in suicide intervention
- Mental Health First Aid training
- First Aid training
- Knowledge of local service networks
