Our Medical Affairs team advances patient care by engaging in scientific exchange with external medical experts and industry leaders, ensuring our products' scientific value is understood. We connect, communicate, and train internal employees to thoroughly understand the science behind the medicine and review further unmet medical needs to support collaboration to differentiate our portfolio further.
As the Medical Advisor, you will be responsible for developing and implementing the medical strategy for specific therapeutic areas. You will provide medical and strategic support to internal stakeholders, including brand strategy development, training, review of promotional materials, advice on regulatory and patient access submissions, clinical trial feasibilities, etc. You will build a relationship with scientific leaders by engaging in balanced scientific exchanges and sharing these insights with the teams within the organisation.
**What will you do**:
- You will be the scientific expert who engages in non-promotional scientific exchange with Scientific Leaders or Key Decision Makers.
- You will provide insights internally on scientific gaps, ideas and other topics gathered from scientific exchange to inform Scientific Response Documents, Investigator Study Program, Local Data Generation proposals, clinical trial programs, development programs and company therapeutic area strategy.
- You will give strategic and medical support to internal stakeholders about product-related issues. Prepares Medical Affairs Plans (MAPs); advise on regulatory and market access submissions; leads Code of Conduct matters; facilitates investigator-initiated studies; supports clinical trial division.
- You will develop and execute Field Medical Engagement Plans within the scope of local and global policies, local rules, and regulations that are aligned with the Field Medical SOP.
- You will support cross-functional activities, including training, promotional review, scientific leader management, and advisory boards.
- You will ensure various engagement metrics (both quantitative and qualitative) are achieved. Perform all company business by policies, procedures and country regulations
As the Medical Advisor you will ensure that you are fully versed in the therapeutic area and up-to-date on:
- All significant studies, both ongoing and completed;
- Product information on the company's relevant therapies;
- Clinical data and relevant pipeline data to provide the most accurate data to SLs, KDMs, and the healthcare community, in a balanced way to improve patient care.
**Additional responsibilities**:
- Organisation of Medical Education Events. Management of MSLs, Mentor new team members and assist the manager with onboarding activities and ongoing peer-to-peer coaching.
- You will provide demonstratable leadership within the Medical Affairs Team
- Responsible for the therapeutic area budget
- Manage the cost of interstate/international travel within the company's travel policy
- Complete all CRM data and insight inputs promptly.
**What should you have**:
- You have a Medical degree, Ph.D. in health sciences, or a pharmacy degree (with two years of industry experience).
- Have demonstrated sustained leadership behaviors and have clear and concise communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to work in cross-functional teams.
- You are analytical and have a strong understanding of research methodology. You can learn and convey medical/scientific information to healthcare professionals and decision-makers.
- You have excellent knowledge of Australian pharmaceutical industry guidelines, regulatory and reimbursement frameworks, and clinical research guidelines.
- Willing to travel (up to 50% of the time)
