**Your new role**
As the City's new Design and Drafting Officer you will report to the Project Engineer. You will prepare designs and plans for municipal and civil engineering projects, provide technical support and advice on design and traffic matters and uphold and demonstrate the values of the City. Your responsibilities will also include:

- Design and drafting utilising computer aided design and drafting packages.
- Obtain quotes for service relocations.
- Manage correspondence associated with project design.
- Redrafting design drawings. I.e. 'As Constructed'.
- Assist investigations into traffic management issues.
- Prepare reports for Council Committees on matters relating to Transport Planning and Development.
- Prepare design estimates for projects.

**What you'll need to succeed**
As the a Design and Drafting Officer, you will need the following qualifications and experience:

- Strong, demonstrated proficiency using AutoCAD, 3D/2D Design as well as other design and drafting packages.
- Experience in Civil Design, Linemarking and estimation.
- Local Government experience is essential.
- Sound knowledge of Australian Standards as well as ARRB, NAASRA, MRWA and AUSTROADS guidelines.
- Diploma in Civil Engineering.
